Kukkal is a Panchayat village of terrace farmers at the far western end of the Palani Hills in Kodaikanal block of Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu state, South India. It is 40 kilometres from Kodaikanal Kookal is notable for the high biodiversity of the area.
Get There- The airport nearest to Kodaikanal is Madurai, about 120 kilometres away. Many tourists take the rail route and get down at Kodai Road, which is about 100 kilometres away from the main town. From here, you can get a taxi. Being the only mode of transportation from Kodai Road to Kodaikanal, taxi rates are not all that negotiable. Kodaikanal is easily accessible by road from Chennai (439 kilometres) and Bangalore (305 kilometres). It's only about 3.5 hours away from Madurai. മൂന്നാറിലെ ഏറ്റവും മനോഹരമായ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലൊരിടം. മൂന്നാറില്‍ താമസിച്ച് ദേവികുളത്തും ചുറ്റുപാടുമായി യാത്ര പ്ലാന്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നതാവും ഉചിതം. മൂന്നാറില്‍ നിന്ന് 13 കിലോമീറ്ററാണ് മാട്ടുപെട്ടിയിലേക്ക്. ഡാമിനോടു ചേര്‍ന്ന് ഇവിടെ ബോട്ടിങ്ങ് സൗകര്യമുണ്ട്. മാട്ടുപ്പെട്ടിയില്‍ നിന്ന് ടോപ്പ്‌സ്റ്റേഷനിലേക്കുള്ള റോഡില്‍ നാലു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ പോയാല്‍ കുണ്ടള ഡാമായി. ഇവിടെ കൃത്രിമതടാകത്തില്‍ ബോട്ടു സവാരിക്ക് സൗകര്യമുണ്ട്. ദേവികുളം താലൂക്കില്‍ തന്നെയാണ് വട്ടവടയും. മൂന്നാറില്‍ നിന്ന് 45 കിലോമീറ്ററാണ് ദൂരം. മാട്ടുപ്പെട്ടി, യെല്ലപ്പട്ടി, ടോപ്‌സ്റ്റേഷന്‍ എന്നിവിടങ്ങള്‍ പിന്നിട്ടുവേണം ഇവിടെയെത്താന്‍. കൊട്ടകമ്പൂര്‍, വട്ടവട ഗ്രാമങ്ങള്‍ ചേര്‍ത്താണ് 32 ച.കി.മി.വിസ്തീര്‍ണ്ണമുള്ള കുറിഞ്ഞിമല സാങ്ങ്ച്വറി നിലവില്‍ വന്നത്. മൂന്നാറില്‍ നിന്ന് 13 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വടക്കാണ് ആനമുടി. കണ്ണന്‍ ദേവന്‍ കുന്നുകള്‍ക്കും ആനമുടിക്കും ഇടയിലാണ് വരയാടുകളുടെ ദേശീയോദ്യാനമായ ഇരവികുളം. ചന്ദനക്കാടുകളും മുനിയറകളും കൊണ്ട് ശ്രദ്ധ നേടിയ മറയൂരും ദേവികുളം ബ്ലോക്കില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെട്ടതാണ്. മൂന്നാറില്‍ നിന്ന് 40 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരം. അവിടുന്ന് 16 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ പോയാല്‍ കേരളത്തില്‍ ആപ്പിള്‍ കായ്ക്കുന്ന കാന്തല്ലൂര്‍. മൂന്നാറില്‍ നിന്ന് 35 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരത്താണ് കൊളുക്കുമലൈ. തമിഴ് നാട്ടിലെ തേനി ജില്ലയിലാണ് സമുദ്രനിരപ്പില്‍ നിന്ന് 7900 അടി ഉയരത്തിലുള്ള ഈ തേയിലത്തോട്ടം. 35 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ തന്നെയാണ് തമിഴ് നാടിന്റെ ഭാഗമായ ടോപ്പ് സ്റ്റേഷനിലേക്കുമുള്ള ദൂരം. മൂന്നാറില്‍ നിന്ന് ബസ്സുകളും ടാക്‌സികളും കിട്ടും. ചിന്നാറിലേക്ക് ദേവികുളത്തുനിന്ന് 55 കിലോമീറ്ററും പള്ളിവാസലിലേക്ക് 9.8 കിലോമീറ്ററുമാണ് ദൂരം.
